The First Step -
Initial Meeting |
|
|
|
The first step in the Website
Designing Process is a meeting between UBE, Inc. staff and
the new Client. This meeting is vital to the success of the
overall project because this is the time when goals and
expectations of the Client are discussed as well as when the
work and process of UBE, Inc. is explained.
During this meeting, the
Client will:
|
-Discuss their
business – services, products, brief history,
etc. |
|
-Discuss
any internet related “real-estate” (I)
that the Client may currently be utilizing |
|
-Act as a bit of
a Q & A session. |
|
-The client will
be able to convey any questions or concerns
about the internet, their website, other
websites, problems they have had in the past,
successes they have had in the past, etc.
Furthermore, UBE, Inc. staff will explain the
benefits of utilizing Search Engine Optimization
& Marketing as well as the “Best Practices” of
SEO, SEM, Internet Marketing and Overall Website
Development. |
|
|
|
|
Next Step - Research and Development |
|
|
|
During the “R & D” phase, UBE, Inc.
staff will perform Keyword Research (I),
Competitor Review (I),
and general industry research.
Furthermore, UBE, Inc. staff will
begin to develop site Layout (I),
Color Schemes (I),
and Overall Design & Structure.
A very important piece to the design
puzzle is the site’s Navigational Structure (I).
During the R & D phase, the site’s navigation menu will be
laid-out. Additionally, the Categories and Sub Categories (I)
for the site will be compiled. These 3 pieces are important
as they lend themselves to the site’s “Friendliness”. This
simply means how easy it is for a user to navigate their way
through the site. Are buttons easy to find? Are the
different sections easy to get to? Is the overall site
experience intuitive?
|
|
|
|
Next Step -
Content Development |
|
|
|
As you can imagine, UBE, Inc.
does not know your industry nearly as well as you
do. In this spirit, it is the responsibility of the Client
to develop the site’s content. Content is any information
or data that will be included in the site. This is
generally info about the Company, Industry, and Members of
the company, any info about the services or products offered
by the company. Essentially, ANY information the Client
would like included on the website should be developed
during this phase.
Optimization, or the
addition of the site’s keywords, will be completed by UBE,
Inc. staff in the later phases of the project.
Once UBE, Inc. staff has completed these steps, the Client
is ready to come in for a
Mock Up Meeting
